I don't want to step on any toes here, but you might get more responses at www.car-seat.org

You should be able to fit three across in an Impala, though. Maybe not with a third Britax, but maybe with a Sunshine Kids Radian. It will fit low enough that it should "puzzle" well with the higher Marathons. It has higher top slots than a Marathon so you could use the Radian forward-facing for the oldest, preferably in the center because the FF child is least protected because RF is safest, and use the Marathons RF for the younger two.

You could also look at the new Safety 1st Uptown. It's got EPP foam (like EPS foam), a VERY nice cover, lots of padding and rear-faces to 35 pounds! Top slots are a bit taller than most Dorel-made convertibles, too. Still only a 40 pound harnessed weight limit but by the time baby outgrows this the oldest will be out of her Marathon and it could be passed down to baby as long as it wasn't expired.
