Yes, I have seen the seat you are talking about. I really feel that it was just a once a deal sort of thing as I have not heard of it again. Sunshine Kids Radians are sold in Canada as well and in the 2 years of me being an advocate/tech, I haven't heard of it again. I don't know if there was anything "after market" on the seatbelt or if there were other factors pertaining to this incident.

As for the Safeguard seat, VERY nice seat..AMAZINGLY easy install. You literally press a button and it tightens the LATCH install! The cons is that it only holds up to 65lbs.

There is a BRitax regent that is the tallest, highest harness weight seat on the market. It will harness to 80lbs and around 53" tall. I, personally, own 2 of these seats and LOVE them. My kids love them as well. You will have to have a tether anchor for this seat when your child hits 50lbs+.

There is also the new Graco Nautilus that is at WalMart. It will harness to 65lbs, then turns into a booster up to 100lbs. They run about $150. The harness slot height is about 18-18.5" tall.

How old is the child and how tall/weight?
