Just wanted to give an update..... we went today to have our seats checked at the Children's Hospital car seat check. We have an 01 Civic (not an 02) and an 06 Prius. WE had installed the seats ourselves and had what I felt were pretty good installs in the middle of the seat in each car. The techs that inspected our seats were pretty pleased with the installation we had done and said that it was good. However, they felt with the
Radian, using the retractor feature on the seat belt instead of the locking clip was probably a better option. They also twisted the stalk of the seat belt on each car to provide a little better installation, since with the locking clip installed, the belt seemed to get a little twisted.
All in all, the Radian was a great choice for us. We wanted our 6 year old, 47in. 53 pound daughter in a harness and in the center of each of our cars, and we got what we wanted. I would recommend the Radian 80 to anyone looking for something for a heavier child.
