It's a 1999 Passat wagon, so we've had it retrofitted with lower anchor points but it doesn't have top tethers. When we had it retrofitted by the dealership, they said it wasn't possible to install top tether points. We tether the RF Boulevard to the metal frame of the front passenger seat.

I'm actually not that interested in getting an infant seat because I hate the buckets. We had a Snugride with ds and a Britax Companion with dd, and I thought they were a PITA. So I'd rather get a convertible for the new baby from the start.

There's absolutely no way to get a third carseat of whatever width in the car with our existing carseats as it is, no matter where we put them -- there's just no room back there.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Radian -- I was reading elsewhere that it's really tough to install safely, is that your experience or not?
