Yes, I lifted the arm rests. The problem was the space between his seat & the seat in front of his. I had him RF on the way there and he was too upright since I couldn't recline the Decathalon. Then on the way home the person in front reclined their seat & I couldn't even fit his seat in the RF position. I had to turn his seat around to FF. I will check out the Safety 1st. What about the Britax Roundabout? I read it is smaller & lighter than the Decathalon.
