Aha

I should clarify, though -- any FF only seat (such as the Regent) is not safe for any child not yeat at least 12 months + 20 pounds ... & that any child who still fits the RF limits of a convertible seat should ride RF regardless of age

If you have $ enough & think kiddo will ever ride with the inlaws, you could save that seat as the spare especially for them (any correctly used seat will protect kids, but I personally would want a more reliable seat for primary use)

The best carseat fits the child, fits the vehicle & is always used correctly....
Get your seat checked.
