Hmmm, can you explain how the harness was not snug? The floor model may be faulty -- from frequent testing which may have led to the strap being improperly routed, etc.... or a lot of parents have misconceptions about snugness: it's fine if the harness rests away from the belly, so long as it's snug at the hips/thigs & collar bone such that you cannot pinch a horizontal crease.
