Default narrowest booster seats?

I'm trying to fit three across in my SUV...I have a 4 year old; 42 inches tall, 40 pounds. A six year old, 48 inches tall, 60 pounds. I also have a 1 year old, 25 pounds and lengthy...not sure exactly. He is in a very wide Evenflo seat that has to be replaced soon because his head is nearing the top. The seat takes up a lot of width.

Any recommendations on how to piece this together? I looked into the Sunshine Kids Radian seat, but think my two older kids fit into a booster seat more easily/comfortably. I am also wondering if my 6 year old could sit without the back and just use the seat part, but I can't find advice on that.

Also, I noticed several posts from Moms who kept older kids rear facing...I thought the rule was 1 year, 20 pounds. I haven't turned my 1 year old forward yet but was thinking it could be time...?? If the 1 year/20 pounds rule is not sufficient, what is a safer guideline?

Thanks!!
