Default 3 car seats in my outback?

I have a 2005 Subaru Outback station wagon. I have twins who are almost 3 years old, and they are fairly small for their age. They weigh approximately 27 pounds each, and are approximately 36 inches tall (this last number is a guess). I am expecting another baby in 6 months and would really like to fit 3 carseats in my Outback.
We currently have 2 Graco Comfortsports. They are in the back seat, middle and behind the passenger. This leaves enough room for a very small adult to sit behind the driver . . . but I don't think it leaves enough room to fit an infant seat.
The Graco Comfortsports are very narrow (17") - is there any toddler seat that is more narrow? (I'm willing to buy new seats if it means I don't have to buy a new car).
Any suggestions for how I could fit 3 car seats in my back seat, given that my twins aren't ready for booster seats yet (and won't be for quite a while)?
If I have to get a new car, I'd love to avoid an SUV or minivan - any suggestions for what car might work?
Thank you for any suggestions!
Ghita
