I'm hoping someone here can help. I need some suggestions for my son's car seat. We have a 1997 Grand Prix Coupe (2-door). Right now there's no way we could afford a different vehicle.

My ds is 8 mos old and weighs 20 lbs. We have him in a rear facing seat on the passenger side. The seat we have is a Cosco...I can't remember which one off-hand. The problem we have is that the passenger seat is almost completely to the front. We travel together quite frequently and I am always the passenger...by the time we travel 30 miles my back and legs hurt from being so scrunched. I'll deal with it if I don't have any other options because I want my son to be safe, but if there's a better option I'd much rather take it!

The seat cannot be installed in the middle because it won't stay tight enough due to the seat belt and a pull-out drink holder.

We don't have a large budget for a carseat, so a Britax is probably not an option at this point. Is there any seat you can recommend??
