I'm trying to fit three across in my SUV...I have a 4 year old; 42 inches tall, 40 pounds. A six year old, 48 inches tall, 60 pounds. I also have a 1 year old, 25 pounds and lengthy...not sure exactly. He is in a very wide Evenflo seat that has to be replaced soon because his head is nearing the top. The seat takes up a lot of width.Any recommendations on how to piece this together? I looked into the Sunshine Kids Radian seat, but think my two older kids fit into a booster seat more easily/comfortably. I am also wondering if my 6 year old could sit without the back and just use the seat part, but I can't find advice on that. Also, I noticed several posts from Moms who kept older kids rear facing...I thought the rule was 1 year, 20 pounds. I haven't turned my 1 year old forward yet but was thinking it could be time...?? If the 1 year/20 pounds rule is not sufficient, what is a safer guideline? Thanks!! |

| 1 year and (not or) 20 pounds is the absolute bare minimum to turn kids forward-facing ... safest practice means keeping kids RF until the maximum limits of the convertible seat: my website explains in more detail ![]() My 5 year old still has growing room in the Radian at 47" tall I would definitely consider that seat for your both your middle & youngest kiddos -- I'd consider the Britax Parkway for your oldest since it does not have armrests which makes buckling easier in tight squeezes (it's usually a lot easier to buckle a harness in 3 across configurations because it's right up front rather than hidden down inside a carseat crevice, which too often leads to bloody knuckles)What exactly is your vehicle year/make/model & budget???

| The Fisher Price Safe Voyage Booster is very narrow (13.5") and I've read in other place people have been able to use them as the middle seat in a 3 across. In addition, the seat is designed and manufactured by Britax, which is nice. Supposedly there's some Britax model (not available in America) that is the original version of this booster. ![]() |

| I need to find a seat that will fit in the back of an 08 Chevy Colorado Ext cab with the small forward facing fold down seats. I currently have a Graco Turbobooster but it says not to use it if it hangs any amount over the front of the seat. Any help with information would be great! |

| I haven't seen the new Colorado seats, so I'm not 100%. Now, I know with most carseats, they will allow about 20% of the seat to hang off the edge of the vehicle seat. As long as 80% of the seat is ON the vehicle seat, you should be okay.
