Question fisher price made by britax

Has anyone tried the car seat by Fisher Price that is made by Britax? Is it the same as the Marathon without the bells and whistles? I can't find it in a store to try it out, but we love the marathon and who doesn't want to save $100 if it's the same seat. Any info would be great. Thanks

The cover options aren't as nice (not as breathable). I don't consider the lock offs to be that important, but RF tetherability is important to me. If you can afford the extra $100 then I would get the Britax -- RF tethering increases safety, especially for keeping toddlers/preschoolers RF until the maximum limits (visit my website for details on that issue).

I just ordered me 2 of them from Target.com. They arrived and are very nice!!
My 22 month old daughter is in hers now and she loves it. It sits higher than the Graco ComfortSport we had her in, so she can see even better now. It is not as good for naps though. I am not saying it is bad, but her head doesnt have as much to sleep on now. I am going to get a pillow of some sort or something to help out with that. I would HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone!!

Thanks for sharing Amanda I just remembered that some parents find the FPSVD & Britax seats a little difficult to put bigger kids in (bumping heads on ceilings), but my kid was all "me do it!" early on & I found the metal bars on the side a nice grip spot for her to pull herself up into the seat Also, I just keep a blanky or 2 in the car -- helps for sleeping as well as warmth in the winter months....
