| hi I have a dd who is 11months old 21lbs& about 28in. I am wanting to get a Britax for my 2005 Subaru Forester but laso it be able to fit my Dh'ss toyota tocoma 96. any suggestions??? I am thinking the Marathon??? I just bought a cosco alpha omaga elite, but it would not allow us to put our seat all the way back & it did not have good head space for dd .. |

| What exactly do you mean "head space" for your DD's head in the Alpha Omega? Sleeping support or distance between top of head & edge of shell/frame? The Marathon shell/frame is taller than the Alpha Omega & does not offer more sleeping support, but should install correctly in your vehicles.... The Tacoma is an issue because of the limited backseat space & I'm guessing that is the vehicle in which you could not push the front seat back Check the vehicle manual to see if carseats are allowed in the backseat -- if so, then make sure that at least 80% of the carseat base is on the vehicle seat cushion (no more than 20% may hang over the edge). The Britax Roundabout might be a better choice for the Tacoma or you may just have to install the carseat in the front: deactivate the passenger airbag! If you have to install a carseat in the front, I personally would use one with a 35# RF weight limit to keep kiddo RF as long as possible. If both vehicles are used often, I suggest keeping a carseat installed in each vehicle at all times to reduce risk of incorrect use from frequent uninstalling/reinstalling.

| I KNOW THIS THREAD IS OLD BUT I JUST WANTED TO SHARE SOME INFO ABOUT CARSEATS IN A TOYOTA XTRACAB. I HAVE THE 2000 MODEL XTRACAB WITH THE LITTLE TRAY THAT POPS OUT. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE PEG PEREGO IN WITH THE BASE, BUT IT WAS A TIGHT FIT AND THE FRONT SEAT WOULD NOT LOCK IN PLACE. UNLESS I LIFT THE CARSEAT A LITTLE BIT, SO I CAN PUSH BACK THE FRONT SEAT AND LOCK IT PLACE, AND MOVED IT ALL THE WAY FORWARD. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE MY DAD'S EXTRA CAR TEMPORARILY. NOW MY DAUGTHER IS ALMOST 10 MONTHS OLD. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY FORWARD FACING CARSEATS, WOULD WORK OKAY IN BACK OF MY 2000 XTRACAB. I ALSO FOUND THIS LINK ON NISSAN FRONTIER WEBSITE (SNUGKIDS). THE 2005-2008 KING CAB BACK SPACE AND 1995-2004 TOYOTA TACOMA XTRACAB HAVE SIMILAR LIMITED SPACE ON THE BACK. I WONDER IF THE CARSEATS MENTIONED ON THE SNUGKIDS WOULD FIT IN THE TACOMA. http://www.nissanusa.com/pdf/child_s...frontierkc.pdf |
