2 Saab 9-5's (a wagon and a sedan) if that helps. They are wide, but well worth it. If you plan on having 3 car seats across you'll be limited to Radian 65's. In my case I have a Britax Regent and a boulevard in each car. Check for top tethers and if you don't have them you should be able to get them retrofitted by the dealer.

How do the Radians compare with the Regent? As far as safety and also as far as comfort? Thanks!

The Radian is the narrowest seat available while the Regent is the widest I'm 5'4" 100# & can just barely squeeze in next to my daughter's Apex in the center of our 1997 Civic HX -- there is no way to fit another carseat next to it.... When the Regent is installed outboard in our Civic the center seat is rendered useless.

Most kids are very uncomfortable in the Radian after about 6 years old, while many 10 years olds still fit the Regent comfortably

Thank you so much!!! It looks like I'll have to try the Radian. I measured the distance between my seat belts in my center seat and it's only about 15". The Radian is 17" but I'll at least give it a go. If I can't make it fit, I'll have to weigh putting on the outside vs. center in a plain old booster. BTW, it is on backorder for a month at Elite Car Seats. Is there any other reputable place to buy on-line? Toys R us and babies R us don't have it. Amazon makes me nervous since there is a 50/50 chance I may have to return it. Julia

The base of the Radian is actually only about 14" At its widest point (near the shoulders) it's about 17"
