| I am looking for a carset for my 2 1/2 year old girl, 28 lbs, avg height for her age. She has been in a Britax Roundabout that is getting very beat-up as it was her brothers. Should I spend the money on another Britax because they are great seats, should I get something that can turn into a booster, if yes, which one? I would like to stay slim if possible, the next car I get may or may not have 3rd row seating so there is a chance of occassionally putting 3 seats across the back (carpooling). We have a wide car and she is in a bucket seat, so anything would fit now, but I am thinking ahead. What do you think is the best answer? |

| If you can afford it, you will get the longest & most comfortable use out of the new Recaro Signo or Como: RF till 35 pounds with RF tethering & the highest FF limits of any convertible Not sure yet about compatability with various vehicles, though....Another option is the Sunshine Kids Radian65 -- Radian80 is really only worth the extra cost for newborns (because of the headsupport) or obese children. This seat has the same RF limits as Britax Marathon & also can tether RF. It has taller top slots than Britax for longer harnessing FF & costs slightly less. It's the narrowest option, but also has quite an installation learning curve (difficult or impossible to achieve correct fit in more vehicles). The new Evenflo Triumph Advance is also a nice option because it has the 35# RF limit with the same top harness position as Britax Marathon as well as nice ease of use features for the lowest cost of these options. It's quite wide. Please visit my "Newborn -- Preschool" webpage (see signature) for details on why you should keep your toddler RF still ![]() If kiddo will only ride FF, then I'd suggest the Recaro Young Sport or Cosco Apex. They both have about the same top harness slot as Britax Marathon, but can be used as boosters after outgrowing the harness. RYSport is a much more dedicated booster than the Apex. The Apex requires vehicle head support at least up to eye level & is the widest option (similar to the Britax Regent).
