Default Twins daddy needs stroller & seat advise pls.

If anyone could help it might save the sanity of my marriage. Expecting twins in Jan. and cannot find a good stroller (thats not side by side) and carseat to go with it. So far peg perego is leading the race, but 700 for the stroller plus 300X2 for the seats, seems kinda nuts. Is there a more reasonable combination? Safety is oviously paramount. Secondary would be convienience such as both seats in the stroller reclining. Pls Help a 1st time dad..

I use the Phil and Teds stroller which is fabulous, but I think it is used primarily for a toddler and infant...I would double check that because I cant say enough good things about it. I know that the Graco and the Jane are front-to-back and can handle two car seats....congratulations!

Default twin stroller

The Graco Duoglider Stroller will fit two infant seats. You can get one at Target for $129.99. The Graco snugride carseat fits in it. The carseats are around $79 each.
Target : Graco Family Tree Duo Stroller

I have helped MANY parents of multiples with these issues and everyone has different needs.
1. Check your car in the database to see which seats fit best. If none are listed then head on over to Babies R Us and have them walk you out to your car with two seats. My top pick is the Graco Snugride or Safeseat, and Ill tell you why in a minute.
2. How active is Mom? If she is wanting to go out with the twins frequently then you need to be sure the stroller you pick is easy to fold, and fits in your trunk. Also make sure she can lift it.
3. If you want an in-between that is super lightweight, check Craigslist for a twin stroller frame. Essentially this allows you to stick both carseats right into the frame and have a twin stroller. I suggest Graco because Peg Perego will not fit on a frame.
4. If you want a stroller to use from now on look into the following and see what fits you the best: Graco Quattro Duo (lasts longer, better fold), Graco Duoglider(lighter weight, less features), BOB Revolution Duallie with two carseat adapters, and Peg Perego.
Oh and just so you know, when you purchase two 'big ticket' items from Babies R Us at the same time and let them know you are having twins, they have a multiple birth discount for 10% off.
Good luck and congrats!

I would suggest getting a double snap and go and 2 infant seats at this point. Then you can decide what you need from a stroller.

You may discover that you don't like the tandom design and be willing to look at side by side again. And most strollers push very well when empty---but when you add kiddos and diaper bags---it's quite the workout. So when you're ready to "move" up in strollers it'll be easier.

Susan
