Is a 06 Ford Explorer and a Britax Marathion compatable?
I just spent 2 hours trying to get this car installed on either the right or left side FF(the other side will occupy my 6 year olds booser so I can not do the FF Marathon in the center). Issue is my rear headrests are not removeable. I have called Ford add they actully told me they have no idea. Help!

Which booster? My Ford Escape had less hip room, but I could fit 2 Britax convertibles with the Parkway booster -- tight 3 across situation, but the lack of armrests on the Parkway allowed for easy buckling....

The newer headrests which cannot be removed is helping to reduce risk of spinal injury to adults who don't understand the importance of head support, but it is causing some carseat incompatibility issues I've only heard specifics on the new Jeep, but I'll ask about the Fords as well.

What is each child's age, weight, height
(just in case there may be need for different seats)

The headrest in the 2006 Explorer is not removable so the seat needs to be installed in the upright position or my daughters legs won't fit behind my seat.

My 6 year old has a Graco No-BackTurbo-Booster. He is 52 inches tall and 62 pounds. My 15 month old is 33 inches tall and 31 pounds.

I really would like to keep the Marathon seat as my younger son is growing at a rapid rate and we have been through 2 seats already.

Mostly, I am trying to determine if this seat can be installed correctly, or which seat would work best with the non-removable headrests in my Ford Explorer.

Have you called Britax customer service? I'm guessing the problem you're faced with is that the vehicle headrest pushes the top of the Marathon forward so that the back of the carseat is not flush against the vehicle seatback cushion Britax may say this is fine so long as you're following both instruction manuals to achieve less than 1" movement at the belt path ... however, they may not (in which case the Marathon would simply be incompatible with this vehicle when used FF) It's much easier to help solve situations like this in person: have you tried contacting a local CPST?
