Default Mazda Protege 5 (2002)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a car seat that will fit a Mazda Protege 5. I am very interested in having this car seat also fit on an airplane, but safety comes first with the seat fitting my car. Price is not much of a concern (though we rather pay less than more). Consumer Reports rated the Evenflo Titan and Triumph high as well as one of the Britax seats.

To make this a little more tricky, we are looking to purchase a Honda Element and would love the car seat we choose for the Protege 5 to also fit the Honda.

I have a little time before I have to purchase one, about 2 months, as my DD is 8 months, 20 lbs, and 26.5" long.

Thanks for your help.

Jodi

Hi Jodi,

I have an '03 Protege5 and DS is currently in a Britax Marathon and it fits great rear facing. I'll leave him that way as long as possible(he's just turning 1 and barely 20lbs), but it will definitely fit better FF. I really like having such a sturdy seat in a small vehicle, because where we live there are alot of semi trucks and not so good drivers. I know the Britax seats are pretty expensive, but I think it's well worth it, especially since he can use this to 60lbs...

I haven't flown with it yet, but will in a few weeks. I've heard it does fit in airlines seats, but I don't know how easy it will be.

Good luck with your decision.

Nora
