| I'm hoping someone here can help. I need some suggestions for my son's car seat. We have a 1997 Grand Prix Coupe (2-door). Right now there's no way we could afford a different vehicle. My ds is 8 mos old and weighs 20 lbs. We have him in a rear facing seat on the passenger side. The seat we have is a Cosco...I can't remember which one off-hand. The problem we have is that the passenger seat is almost completely to the front. We travel together quite frequently and I am always the passenger...by the time we travel 30 miles my back and legs hurt from being so scrunched. I'll deal with it if I don't have any other options because I want my son to be safe, but if there's a better option I'd much rather take it! The seat cannot be installed in the middle because it won't stay tight enough due to the seat belt and a pull-out drink holder. We don't have a large budget for a carseat, so a Britax is probably not an option at this point. Is there any seat you can recommend?? |

| I myself have not installed a RF seat in that vehicle, but the database here shows that the Britax Marathon does install well in the center ... you could ask for coupon codes/discount info @ Car Seat.Org - Carseat, Vehicle & Child Passenger Safety Forums or you could try to find a Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe: based on the Marathon & still made my Britax but for less cost without certain additional/optional features ![]()

| I will definitely check the Fisher Price one out. The one we have fits well in the middle, but we have leather seats and it constantly slides. I had it installed by the CarSeat Check here and after about a week it had slid down (laying more flat). We bought a thing to go under it that is supposed to help with the sliding, but it still slides. The problem seems to be that there is an armrest/cupholder built into the seat and the car seat cannot be cinched tight enough. However, when it's installed in either side, it tips to the side after a few days. I feel like I'm constantly adjusting it so he's not uncomfortable. |

| Slight tipping is fine -- so long as the carseat moves less than 1" at the belt path kiddo safe.... If kiddo isn't complaining then don't worry about it ![]()
