Default do I need a bigger car or will it fit?

Hi all, I currently have a Primo Viaggo Car Seat, my daughter is 8 months and 17 lbs. I was told by the professional CPS tech who installed it in car that I should go to a convertible when my daughter gets to 20lbs. Well, here;s the problem, I drive a 2005 Volvo S40. When I went shopping for Britax Car Seats, they all look massive!! I want to get the Britax Boulevard (it has the side impact like the Primo Viaggo) but will it fit in my car? I would hate to buy it and not have it fit in my car. I tried to look it up on carseatdata.org to see if it's compatible but there's no data on it. Can anyone tell me if they have a Volvo S40 or similar sized vehicle and if the Britax Boulevard fit, rear facing in the center of the back seat. Thanks so much!!!

One thing to remember about the RF seats if they don't have to be reclined at a 45' angle and it is ok to install them more upright. Also Britax allows the carseat to brace against your vehicles seat, check your cars manual to make sure that your car allows this before you do it. I don't think that the BVD will take up much more room then your infant seat does.
