| Hello... My son is now 9months old and 19lbs4oz and 28in. He is currently in a graco snugride (RF). I want to get a convertible car seat for him and am considering a britax (roundabout, diplomat or marathon) or perhaps a recaro (signo or como) or radian. I have searched online, but cant tell if any or all of these will fit in my car -- I have a 1999 Lexus ES300 (no latches/tethers). Ideally I would like to have the car seat in the middle, but if that's not possible then he will sit in back behind the passenger seat. I know that for the Britax's, the marathon would last longer but I am not sure about the fit in my car. And I am relatively new to knowing about the recaro and radian, but it seems like a compact seat that would last for a while too. Of course I am all about a bargain, but if I can get a seat that will last for quite sometime, I am fine with spending the $$$ for safety. Anyone have words of wisdom for me? Thanks tons in advance! | Hi! Your best bet is to visit a retailer near you that sells the seats you are interested in. The retailer should let you put the seat in your car to try it out. Every vehicles characteristics are different so it's important to see if it fits. RECARO is expanding to many retailers nation wide at the moment. If you have a hard time finding a location near you, just send me a private message and I would be more than happy to help you out. To tell you a little about the RECARO seats, RECARO is big into Side Impact Protection (SIP). Our knowledge on SIP began with our OEM seating and aftermarket seating. We have taken this knowledge and have applied it into all of our child seat lines. We market ourselves as 'the Original SIP' considering we established the concept back in 1996. You'll notice our deep walls, the deep pocket where the child's behind rests and our energy absorbing foam in our convertible seats. I am a little biased but I wanted to share a little information about this important feature. Hope this helps! |
