Default Help With Marathon In Civic Center Seat

I am new here and wanted to know if a Marathon can safely fit in a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid in the center seat FF for my 38lb daughter. SHe is 44" tall and I really want her in the middle if possible. There is a very small "lump" in the middle section but I think the base of the Britax Marathon can sit perfectly on it. Can I use the latch or just a seatbelt? Is it safer to use the latch on the side position or better to sit her in the middle and use a seatbelt? All three positions in the car have a teather strap. Thanks in advance!

My Civic HX is 10 years old & the Marathon does not fit in the center ... but I haven't seen a newer model to give a better answer -- it may very well fit with seatbelt, but I don't think Honda has or allows center LATCH.

LATCH is not necessarily safer, it's just supposed to be easier & yet too often it is not easier! Also, while the center is furthest from point of impact, the safest place to put a carseat is whichever location provides the most secure, correct installation (as per both carseat + vehicle manuals). A 5 point harness carseat is very safe outboard: your child will definitely be safer than you are up front....

The best carseat fits the child, fits the vehicle & is always used correctly....
Get your seat checked.
