99 subaru outback legacy + radian 80?

I'm trading my accord for a subaru and want to still use my Radian 80 carseat for my 5 year old. I prefer to install it in the center. I keep reading that this isn't possible. My dealer says he can install teathers. Can I keep her in the middle?

If not, is the outback position much more dangerous?

Is there any other carseat that you'd recommend for the center position? I like the radian because it's (1) safe and (2) doesn't look like a "baby" seat.

While the Radian 80 has a very high weight capacity, the seat width is only 10" vs. the Regent's 14" seat. The Britax Regent may be a bit wider, but it is very bulky, is only forward facing, and does not fold like the Radian 80. Because the Radian 80 is so narrow, you can potentially put three of them side by side in the back seat. Three Regents side by side? Impossible.
