Second convertible car seat

I am looking for a convertible car seat for the nanny's car and don't want to spend a ton of money on one. They won't be driving around that often. I would prefer to buy one new, but most of them are too expensive. I found the Evenflo Tribute 5 Convertible Car Seat on Amazon for a pretty good price, and wanted some info on it. It has really good reviews online, but wanted to hear from the expert before I purchased it. Thank you!

	Convertible Car Seats Convertible seats are for infants and toddlers. The seat can be used as a rear-facing seats for younger children, and switched to a forward-facing seat on the child's first birthday if the child weighs at least 20 pounds. However, experts recommend keeping the child in a rear-facing position until he or she outgrows the weight or height allowed by the safety seat.

I have two very good friends who have the tribute. One as their main seat and the other in dad's car (not used as often.) I am looking into buying one a new car seat, and they both seam to really like it. I have fit my baby in it, and he seems like it. I would like there to be a bit more wing to the seat - mainly for naps, but if it is just for short trips your baby prob is not going to be napping anyway. Also, I am not sure it is great for a tall baby. May outgrown soon. Both the people I know say that they like it overall. Good luck.

Yes, the only Evenflo combination seat that fits most kids until they're truly ready for a booster is the Triumph Advance -- the Cosco Scenera is a fine seat for less than $50 that fits most vehicles.... Whichever seat you get, please make sure the daycare providor has a local CPST check the install/use (with child present).

P.S. choose the 5 point harness version, not the overhead shield!

	Booster Seat A booster seat raises your child up so that the car's lap and shoulder belts fit correctly. The lap belt should fall across the upper thighs. The shoulder belt should go across the middle of the shoulder and chest. A booster seat is used for older children up to about 80 pounds. Some states have passed laws requiring booster seats for children up to age 8 or 80 pounds. Check your state's law.
