| HELP!! I'm trying to decide between the decathlon and marathon, can anyone give me some info? I want a seat that will be useful the longest, which seems to be the decathlon, but I'm not sure there is a real difference between the two. Also, I've read some negative things about the decathlon harness straps- hard to pull and not tight enough. But I've also read about kids figuring out the lever and playing with the harness on the marathon. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

| Not really a HUGE difference between the two. The Marathon has the life lever and the Decathlon has the push button lever. I prefer the lift lever..it is just a preference to me. The Decathlon has 3 different crotch buckle positions and the Marathon only has one. The Decathlon has an infant insert and the Marathon does not. They both RF to 33lbs (although they are upping their RFing limits to 35lbs in 2008) and FF to 65lbs. It seems that if you are one to change covers often, Britax offers more covers for the Marathon. HTH!

| Differences: Marathon's lower anchor system slides on a bar when you change from rear to forward facing, Decathalon must be re-routed. Marathon crotch strap is stationary, Decathalon can move. Marathon's harness system loosens very similar to Graco where Decathalon has a button release that is hard for some people but most find no big difference. Marathon has more available covers, Decathalon is very limited. The only other big difference is that the Decathalon comes with padding for an infant so if you are using this from birth the Decathalon might be a better choice. Size-wise and weight-wise they are the same. |
