Radian won't fit in my echo

I made the mistake of buying a convertible car seat without trying it first because it was on sale. I bought a Radian that goes up to 48 pounds, but it is too long in the rear facing position, which was a disappointment. We are giving it to my mother and are on the hunt for another seat. Any suggestions? We have a 2003 Toyota Echo and would prefer if the seat fit well in the centre because I understand that is safer.

The Britax Regent may be a bit wider, but it is very bulky, is only forward facing, and does not fold like the Radian 80. Because the Radian 80 is so narrow, you can potentially put three of them side by side in the back seat. Three Regents side by side? Impossible.

How old is the child you are using it for?

She is 4 months and has almost outgrown her infant seat because she is tall.

	Infant Car Seats Infant-only rear-facing seats are for babies up to about 22 to 30 pounds, depending on the specific car seat. You will need a new seat when your child gets bigger. Infant-only seats have handles that allow you to move the seat from the car to the house or other locations. Some have a base that you can leave installed in the car, so you can just click the car seat into place each time you use it.

Newborns require the full 45 degree angle, but since she is slightly older, you don't have to have that full 45 degree recline (unless there is a medical condition). You can lean the seat slightly up, which may give you some more room. As long as her head isn't flopping forward when she is sleeping, it is between 30-45 degrees, then you have the perfect recline for her.
