Default best convertible for petite baby

I have a 16 month old girl who is approx 20 pounds 29 inches. She is still in an infant car seat, so I am looking for the best convertible car seat that will grow with her until she is ready for a booster. I've been looking at Britax products because of reviews, but not completely decided yet. She is petite so I'm unsure where her size will be at particular ages. (My husband is 5'7' and I am 5'5" - so she will likely stay small). I drive a '06 Nissan Maxima. She is currently facing rear because I am unsure of her exact weight or my thoughts on turning her around. So far she has not complained which is why we haven't considered it yet nor bought a new seat, but is starting to want to sit up taller. We are ready to make a purchase, but want to only buy one seat that will last us. Thanks for any feedback.

She is far safer to remain Rear Facing. The larger britax seat; marathon, decathalon or blvd will allow you to keep baby RF until 33 pounds. The seat back is nice and tall to support this and remaining harnessed until 5-6 yrs, longer for some children.

While those seats can be spendy now---if you take into consideration the fact that you can use it continually for such a long period of time, it's not so pricey.

Susan
