Default Graco Comfort Sport

I was looking at a lot of carseats yesterday...side-by-side in Babies R Us and was looking at the Graco seat. Seems comfy and yet narrower than the Triumph Advance. Anybody know of the cons of the Graco one? Seemed like a good buy and cheaper than the Marathon. I know....only ff to 40 lbs. I just can't see that real big one in my car for occasional trips with my grandson. Thanks

The biggest con with the Comfortsport is that the harness slots are very short AND you can only use certain slots in certain directions. I used one for my son and he outgrew it at 16 months RFing (and that was PUSHING the limits of the slots) and his shoulders were over the top slots by 19 months (he is very tall). The Triumph Advance is a GREAT seat and will RF the child to 35lbs and FF the child until 50lbs IN the harness. My 5 y/o fit in this seat!!!!

The Comfort Sport has a very low RF weight limit of 30 lbs, and a very short shell and low top slots.
It is outgrown both RF and FF VERY young, I've seen posts where 18 month old children have outgrown the seat completely.
Not worth the money.

The Evenflo Triumph Advance will last a good long time., it has a 35 lbs RF weight limit and a 50 lbs FF weight limit.
My 5 year 11 month old (who outgrew her Marathon at 5 years 9 months) would still fit in one.

I also agree that the Comfort Sport is a poor choice for a convertible. While it will work for a short time I can not see it working for a child much older than two nor will it keep them RF for as long as possible. I owned one & got rid of it b/c I had alot of problems with twisty straps, getting the harness to adjust evenly & easily as it seemed one side was always longer than the other, also it didn't seem to install as well as I would have liked it to. I now own an Evenflo Triumph Advance & am VERY happy with it. My 18 month old is still RF in it & very comfortable with TONS of room to grow, so I am confident he will make it to 2 or 3 RF in this seat. I would deffinatly suggest it over the Comfort Sport ANY day of the week, Hands Down. Good Luck!

For occassional use, as a grandparent would need. I suggest a Cosco Scenera. You can pick one up at Target or Wal-Mart for $43 and change. It RF to 35 pounds and then FF to 40. It has a nice tall seatback and topslots. It's cheaper than the Comfort Sport and will get you more use for less money.

Susan

Default I got it--thanks a lot

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info you all gave me on this. I went out and bought the Cosco Scenera last week and it installed nicely and he seems very comfortable in it. Definitely worth the $$$.
