Default carseat for airplane?

I'm looking for advice on choosing a carseat that will serve 2 purposes.
1-for 2nd vehicle
2-for air travel

We currently have the Britax BLVD, and love that we can use it up to 65lbs. We don't want to spend that much on this next one (looking at $150 max), but we want it to last.
Right now, i'm looking at the Evenflo Triumph DLX (goes up to 50lbs), but i don't know if it's too cumbersome for the airplane. This is our first time flying w/ dd, and we don't know which seat to buy.

Any advice?
I don't want one that's as big as the BLVD!

How old is the child? How much does the child weigh?

My first thought is a Cosco Scenera, but without knowing the above info....I can't be sure that is a proper choice for you. If you have a baby or young toddler---it's probably a great choice. If you have an older toddler or a pre-schooler, I'd probably suggest something different.
