| Hi- I have a 3 1/2 yo, about 30 lbs and about 40" tall, and a 2yo also 30lbs and about 33 or 34" tall. Am expecting #3 shortly, so I need to buy a new car. In our 2 cars we have 3 boulevards and a roundabout, and I'd like to use my Britax companion for the baby, or am willing to buy a snugride. I plan to buy a Radian (will buy 2 if I have to) but would be happiest if I could keep at least one of the boulevards- I don't want a big SUV (wouldn't fit in our little garage and hate the poor mileage) and will not look at minivans. Love my husband's Lexus rx400h but I don't know anyone who has fit 3 of anything in one of those. Would consider a sedan but seems like it would be hard to get the middle kid in & out. Price is not a concern. So- Will the rx400h or the Cayenne work? Is there a Mercedes I should consider? I will look at BMW & Acura but not sure I will like them. What else should I look at? Thanks- |

| We have the 2006 RX400h and love it. Today, we just bought the Radian for our 4 y/o and will be using the Roundabout for our 2y/o and the PegPrego infant seat for baby #3 on the way. All 3 seats fit nicely. We are trying to look for another car with an accessable 3rd row (for extra passengers), but want to put all 3 carseats in the second row. Cost is not an issue, but gas mileage is. Do you have any suggestions? |

| What is the current vehicle year, make, model? What are your current carseats? (brand name + seat name please, if you can, but fabric cover design name don't matter) I have not installed carseats in any of the vehicles mentioned, but the easiest sedans I know of for 3 across are the Taurus, Intrepid & Malibu.... However, the vehicle you already have may be sufficient with the right carseat configuration (much less costly to replace carseats than a whole car)

| We have a 2006 Lexus RX400h which fits 3 carseats in the second row. We have a Sunshine Kids Radian80 for a 4 y/o 34 lbs, Britax Roundabout for a 25 lb 2 y/o and a PegPrego primoviaggio infant seat for the baby on the way. All 3 carseats fit nicely in the back. Shan posted this thread awhile back, but I hope this info will help. Just a note: the 2008 Lexus GX and LX suvs both have 3 LATCH seats available in the second row. We are in a market for another suv or minivan that has a full third row and still would fit 3 carseats (we have Britax Marathon, Roundabout, and Peg Prego infant seat but will buy another Radian 80 or something else to accomodate). We love our luxury cars, but do not like the huge SUV and their poor gas milage. We liked the 2008 Honda Odyssey Touring, but according to another thread, only the rf infant seat is appropriate for the 'jump'seat between the captain chairs. Placing the infant seat between the two huge car seats every day seems logistically painful. Also, a Honda salesman told us that the jump seat is only good for booster seats. We would like to have the infant seat on the outboard, the radian in the middle and one of the Britax on the other outboard seat. Right now, we think our best bet is the Toyota Sienna Limited or XLE. Any other suggestions? Last edited by third on the way; 03-10-2008 at 04:39 PM. |
