3 booster seats in a sedan?

My husband drives carpool for my 6 y/o son's school a few times a week. Up until now, we have switched cars on carpool day. However, this really isn't that convenient. He is getting a new car that has a fairly wide, flat back seat that will fit 3 booster seats in width. However, the problem is accessing the seat belts -with 3 boosters it is difficult to buckle them in belted and will be virtually impossible to buckle them in with kids in them.

Has anyone successfully used 3 booster seats across the back seat of a sedan? If so, what seats did you use? Any other tips?

Looking at the car seat measurements, it looks like the Sunshine Kids Monterey might work, but its pretty expensive and to shell out that much money without knowing whether or not it will work seems like a pain.
