Default Ford Taurus...3 seats???

We currently have a 2002 Ford Taurus and have a 6yr old and a 4yr old in highback booster. They both weigh enough and currently use the car seatbelts, not the point harnesses, and therefore need frequent access to the seat belt clips. We are expecting this summer and husband wants to put off the minivan purchase for a year or so. Does anyone know if other booster seats work better with an infant car seat base and later with a convertible car seat for the newborn.

You may need to go to BRU or TRU and try seats out in your car to see what will work.

Do you trust your children to tell you if they accidently unbuckled the baby's seat?

Just because children meet the age and weight minimums(4 yrs AND 40 pounds) does not mean they are ready for a booster. Do your children lean to get things they've dropped? Are they still car sleepers?

Are you opposed to putting at least your 4 yr old back into a harness? There was a study that came out last fall that reported that children were safer in a 5 pt harness over the booster.

Susan
