| I am trying to find options for a backup car that can hold three 3 year olds (approximately 28 lbs each). We already have a Toyota Sienna (8 passenger) that works great for every day transportation with the kids. We are looking at replacing our second car and would like to have a backup in case the Sienna ever goes down. This has already happened once so the situation is not hypothetical. This second car would mainly be for commuting back and forth to work and would only carry the kids a small portion of the time. It does not need lots of storage (we have the Sienna for that) but it does need to get good gas milage. We are open to suggestions about what kind seats would work as well as the car they would work in. Anyone with experience with specific car and seat would be a great help. Thanks a lot. |

| The radian is the narrowest convertible out there. If you want a combo seat...The new graco nautilus harness to 65 pounds, and then converts to a great booster. It may not be the most narrow option...but you may be hard pressed to find 3 seats to fit in a small car that's good for commuting. You may need to get 2 of 1 kind and 1 of another to get them all fit. Susan |

| I have seen lots of vehicles with 3 across, so I would think the best option for you would be for you to seek out a vehicle that seems to fit your needs, then try out the seats you currently have in the back. Yes, sometimes it takes some configuring, but as long as the seats are in there tight, independently and not relying on the seat next to them to be in there snug, then you are good! Now, if there are plans for any future children, I would definitely take a look into something with 3 rows or something that has that optional 3rd row.
