Default Install on a Scion tC

I have a Scion tC and i'm trying to install the Graco SafeSeat in it. I dont have an owners manual for the car so i'm not really sure where and how i can install the car seat. I have tried installing it in the back seat, on both sides and it takes up so much space that you cant get the front seats back far enough to be safe for the front passengers. But it does seem to fit pretty good (doesnt wiggle) in the middle position, but can i have it in the middle position in that type of car? And the back of the car seat does touch both of the front seats, is that safe? And i used the LATCH system, is that okay? Any help would be great!

Here are some pics of my install! Along with one of the backseat with nothing in it.

yes, you can put an infant seat in the middle of a scion. that install looks fine to me.

A center installation in a Toyota is generally not allowed using the LATCH system. The excerpt for the Quick Ref guide from the LATCH manual is here.

You can use center seat belt to attach your SafeSeat to the car. I would also make sure to follow the child seat manual's instructions for a seat belt installation and that the child seat does not touch the driver and passenger seats (~1-2 inch clearance space).

Hope that helps!
