Default Infant car seat for 2002 Lexus RX300???

We will be bringing our twins home from the hospital NICU very soon and are now attempting to install their Graco Snugride infant seats into the two rear seats of our 2002 Lexus RX300. There doesn't seem to be sufficient space for the seats without both the driver and front passenger having their knees literally in the dashboard (my husband is 6'2" and I am 5'6"). HELP! Are there any other infant car seats on the market that fit this car? I believe the car seat handle is required to be placed in position D (all the way down) and in this position it doesn't create any more space. Also, the back seat is locked in the farthest back setting so no help there.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks so much!

You can use the Snugride with the handle in the all the way up position.

Have you visited with a CPST to help you with your challenge? They may know some tips to help make it work for you.

You may need to keep your seats more upright, but still slid back.

Susan

I LOVE this vehicle!! I don't know your children's sizes, but I have found that the Chicco KeyFit and the Baby Trend Flex Loc tend to fit smaller babies.

Another idea, if you choose to not return the Snugrides, you can install the seats without the base (though I don't recommend this b/c there is a larger chance of you not getting it in at the right angle) and it may give you a little more room.

I totally agree with Susan. Seek out a carseat tech in your area https://ssl13.cyzap.net/dzapps/dbzap...AFEKIDSCERTSQL. They will be able to help you out better!!!

congratulations on your 2 new babies!
