Laboratory tests, many of which exceeded the requirements of FMVSS 213, showed that the seat could potentially separate from the base, when tested under such conditions. Centre and Shuttle car seats have consistently met existing government safety standards, but Combi is conducting a voluntary recall campaign for enhanced protection. There have been no reports of injuries or deaths, but Combi recommends that consumers use the Centre and Shuttle without the base, until the retrofit kit is installed.



A notification letter, describing how to obtain a free retrofit kit, is being sent to all registered owners (attached). Other consumers should visit www.combi-intl. com or call Combi Consumer Relations Department at 1-800-543-7734.
