| Baby universe has a big Britax sale on right now. We were waiting for the Recaro Signo to come out, but now that I've seen some photos of the Como and the fact that it may not tether RF has me considering the Britax BV instead. Can anyone comment on the two negative things that were said about it: that the crotch strap is to close and short and that children are able to release the straps themselves while driving. It is on sale for $249. Thanks a bunch, -Michele |

| I personally never had any negatives about my BV -- low/close crotch straps are actually safer than being high or away from the body.... Unless a child has medical issues (either related to genitalia specifically or just sensory in total) then I don't foresee this as a problem & I think that too often kids merely feed off their parents' worries ![]() As far as being able to reach the harness release lever: this is common in many seats. A somewhat simple solution is to hand stich the cover flap fully closed & just get used to pulling the cover up from underneath the bottom "lip" of the seat ![]() The head wings may get in the way of comfy sleeping while FF if the straps aren't tight enough and/or the seat is very upright. The more upright the more equally crash forces are spread out when FF, though so my kiddo just propped a fleece blankey between her head & the wings. If you have a heavy or very tall child & can afford the Como, I'd still prefer it for the higher RF+FF limits. If you have very low vehicle seatback cushions as well as very close rear window, then the RF tetherability of Britax is most important.
