Default Which seat for ff in 1990 Volvo?

My dd is 2 and has outgrown height wise her Graco ComfortSport. We have her ffing, and am not planning on turning her back. She was the worst rfing, I think she got car sick, crying until she would puke, constant screaming on trips, ect. We turned her at 13 months and it has made a world of difference. I was thinking of the Radian, I like how thin it is and the high ffing weight, but the price is a little much. We would be using seatbelts and a tether, and may be able to keep her in the middle. We are expecting a new baby in December so we'll have to see how both seats fit.

Anyone have any advice for my rambling post?

So, I don't want you to think I don't want dd rear facing. We are actually going to give it a shot. If anyone has any expierence with a child like mine, please give me some tips. I actually feel unsafe driving when she is screaming. Thanks again!

What angle was her seat at? Kids with good head control don't need to be at the full 45 degrees anymore. A tech "checking" dd's Marathon when she was 20 months put it at 45 degrees, and she had a fit because she was tipped so far back she couldn't see out. She should be able to go as upright as 30 degrees (IF her neck strength is adequate, and IF the car seat's manual doesn't forbid it), which could make a big difference.
Lots of kids seem to protest the car seat in general at that age anyway. My dd did at 13 months, and again at 16-17 months. It's not that they don't like rf, since they don't know any different, it's more that they don't want to be restrained.
