| I'm in the market for a new seat for my daughter. She is 2.5 years old, 36.5 lb and 36 inches tall. She is currently in a Britax Roundabout, but fast approaching the weight limit, so I need to find something new for her. It would go in a 1997 Toyota Corrolla. I want to keep her in a 5 point harness as long as I can. I do have some financial constraints on whatever I end up getting her, but am willing to pay a bit more if it means she will be safer. I'm hoping that whatever I get her might be the last car seat that I buy for her. What would you all recommend I get? Thanks in advance for your help ![]() Last edited by Papooses; 12-30-2007 at 07:41 PM. |

| Since kiddo can't ride RF anymore, I personally would not consider any of the convertible high wight harness options on the list -- the Apex could be a good choice so long as the vehicle seatback provides head support at least up to eye level: consider the tallest setting for when kiddo eventually uses it as a booster.... The Regent would keep kiddo harnessed the longest, but I'm not sure off hand how easy it is to use in your vehicle since the new installation advice was released Also, if you travel or if kiddo rides in other vehicles, then the Regent will be too cumbersome. What is your budget?

| I've been considering the Apex, but am not sure if it is a good option for me. There are no headrests in the back seat of my car, and as I remember it you need them for this seat......am I correct? Whatever seat I get would go into my car and stay there. DD rides in a Britax Marathon in DH's car. I was also looking at the Radian 65 and the Regent as options.....what do you think? All of these seats are in my price range, I'd like to stay below $250 give or take a few dollars |

| You will need tether anchors for the installation of the Regent. If you do not have them already retro fitted in your vehicle, you can contact Toyota, give them part no. 73709-12010. They run about $12 per kit. Remember, this seat is a mammoth and will likely take up a lot of space, so if you have more than 2 kids at a time you may need to try it out with your other carseats/boosters. I have installed one in a Corolla, but I do not remember the year (I am thinking early 2000??). We did have to play around with the new short belt install to get it tight, but the mom got it in great.
